Learning From Children

I learn from from children. They are honest, free, forgiving, loving, innocent, fun, open-minded, curious, eager, caring, and compassionate. They are great teachers. When adults are asked the question, "How big is your game?" the general response is with an awkward shrug, "As big as a room or a house."
When I ask my oldest son, Patrick, "How big is your game?" His response with a giant grin, "Bigger than 100 universes."
Rich and Successful People Think Big. Poor People Think Small.
T. Harv Eker, author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind said it best, "If a hundred-foot oak tree had the mind of a human, it would grow to be ten feet tall."
I don't know at what age we stop dreaming. I know for me it was probably around age 7 or 8. I'm not clear if it was a defining moment or it was a culmination of several episodes.
Its been my experience that adults stop dreaming. While they may "wish" for a new car, new house, zero debt, better relationships, internal peace, they stop dreaming and start dying. In their Awakened Hypnotic Trance, they become slaves to their work, jobs, and beliefs. They become chained to their jobs, relationships and beliefs.
Children are free and they dream. When they want something really, really bad, they ask for it and don't stop asking until they get it. They learn from their mistakes and continue to grow.
What are your dreams?
And what is the price of getting your dream?
Although its a hard pill to swallow for some, you have created your own reality. Whatever your life looks like at this moment is your own making. Everything that you have and do is because of you and the choices you have made. While its easy for some to blame their spouse, partners, friends, neighbors, boss, colleagues, etc, it really boils down to you and your choices.
The best part, though, is that you can learn, grow and prosper and succeed. You can take your experiences and learn and be wise.
While some choose to "try" to steal your dreams, only YOU can allow your dreams to be stolen.
Play Big! You deserve it.
